Bexhill United are gearing up to welcome overseas visitors to their Polegrove ground for the first time in over a hundred years of football history in the town with the visit of Guernsey FC on Saturday November 15.
Bexhill are expecting a big crowd for the game and kick-off has been brought forward to 2pm to allow their guests time to get their flight back to the Channel Islands.
The bar and hot food outlets at the Polegrove will be open, and the club encourages supporters to arrive early and make use of the facilities. Every penny will be reinvested back into grassroots football in Bexhill.
A spokesperson for the Bexhill FC Committee said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Guernsey to the Polegrove on Saturday 15th November for what is an historic occasion for the football club.
“We are hoping that the town will turn out in big numbers to give our visitors a warm reception and to cheer the Pirates on.
“There’s a real buzz around the Polegrove this season, and we have already had two crowds of over 250, which is fantastic at our level. We hope to beat that with the Guernsey game and we are urging everyone to help us to spread the word.”
