BEXHILL is gearing up for a packed day of entertainment, community activities and displays as Bexhill Day returns to the seafront this weekend.
The event will take place on East Parade from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, August 15, bringing together charities, support groups, volunteer organisations and sports clubs from across the area.
Organisers say preparations are now in full swing, with the full list of organisations taking part being announced on social media in the run-up to the event.
A number of special attractions are planned throughout the day, including a dance demonstration from Groove Bexhill and an appearance by Rosie the Little Grey Pony.
One of the highlights is expected to come in the skies above the town, with a flypast by Battle of Britain Memorial heritage aircraft.
Civic dignitaries and representatives from Armed Forces associations will salute the aircraft from the ground as they pass over Bexhill.
The Mayor of Bexhill-on-Sea and town councillors will also be at the Town Council gazebo throughout the day, where visitors will be able to take part in outdoor games, win prizes and use a special selfie station.
Bexhill Day is being held in conjunction with Bexhill Heritage, which has organised a full programme of entertainment at the nearby bandstand.
Acts due to appear include Culbaba Theatre, Battle Ukulele Band, the Royal British Legion Concert Band, Bexhill Players drama group and Sevenoaks Saxophone Orchestra.
The event forms part of a particularly busy weekend for the town, with Bexhill Art Weekender also taking place on Saturday and Sunday.
Shows and exhibitions will be staged at a number of venues across Bexhill as part of the two-day celebration of the town’s arts scene.
Organisers of Bexhill Day said they hoped as many residents as possible would get involved in the weekend’s activities, describing them as an opportunity to discover more about Bexhill and “celebrate the best of our town”.
Bexhill Day takes place on East Parade from 10am until 4pm on Saturday, August 15.
